I finally got my paws on this movie. It's a Korean movie starring Rain which came out last year and I remember when I first heard the title I thought it was just hilarious. I thought it was gonna be some cheesy "Not Quite Human" type story (ZOMG who remembers the "Not Quite Human" movies :O?) But I was quite surprised when I watched it! It's a very unique and creative movie....very bizarre indeed, but I really liked it. It's about 2 people in a mental asylum, a girl who thinks she's a cyborg and an antisocial man who steals everything. I think everyone was really impressed by Rain's performance in this, it was his debut as a film actor and I knew he had won some awards for it, and I can really see why. He really is a good actor :O I mean watching the movie you aren't thinking "That's Rain!" I think after he gets older and can't be an idol singer anymore he can totally be a respectable fulltime actor.

Well I read the film was a box office flop but had a lot of critical acclaim. Yeah it's not for everyone, like I said it's quite bizarre, but I don't know I just really liked it. I guess I like movies about crazy people ^^;;
But Lydia I bet you would like it as well.

Ok so....I'm totally dropping one of the classes I'd signed up for for summer but didn't actually need. Because I just can't take this anymore. I need a rest.
Nobody ever take Japanese 407C from Cook at UHM.
Basically....first she was saying our midterm would cover
Reading 5.1, 5.2 and as far as we got in 6.1 then we got an e-mail saying we'd only cover the 1st page of reading 6.1. In class today, the last day of class by the way, we were to go over the 6.1 reading. Usually us students go through it and we talk about the "hard sentences" but today? No. She went through it herself, and went over class time to cram as much in as possible so that even more could be on our test ( so basically we "did" almost the full 2 pages), and THEN she just sent out an e-mail saying..oh by the way, reading 4.2 is gonna be on there too. I'm tired of your LIES teacher! (said in a dramatic and heart wrenching voice) Of course this school gives us only 2 days off school plus the weekend to study for our exams/write our final papers, and I just am really overwhelmed with my finals and papers this time round and when I got that e-mail I just felt so pissed off. That woman has no concept of what's an appropriate workload.It takes ages to study for one of her test with half the material ...it would be ok except you know...I have OTHER finals and paper and I'm still working. So yeah, I'm lightening my summer load because I hate feeling overwhelmed like this and I'm just tired of it.

edit/
Oh, and lets not forget the part where she forgot to give us back our last test to study by

So I know last night I swore I wouldn't go into that bathrom again....but in light of day you know..I thought I'd just take a peek and see if it was still there......Well, it was not there anymore. So this was 1. Good, because I supposed that it left and crawled back into some hole outside or something, and 2, bad because yeah, it was alive.

But I looked carefully around and didn;t see it so I was like well, I'll glance in the shower real carefully and see if it's clear....since really I don't like walking around in my towel all over the place....but! Just as I was about to call it clear, *holds hand over pounding heart* I looked over at the door and I saw it drop down from where it had been behind the door and start running TOWARDS ME. Now I have no doubts this a young cane spider, also known as a Huntsmen spider. I have never seen one before in real life, but seeing as it was a little bigger than a large tarantula and hade very long spidery legs and moved really fast I know that's what it was. Of course adult cane spiders can get 5 or even 7 inches so I've heard so I know it wasn't an adult but still bigger than any arachnid has the right to be. In anycase I was saying "Holy God!" and prancing on my feet, praying to every deity known to man that it wasn't going to run right up to me and jump on me or something. Thank God it didn't and ran up the wall behind the side of the shower curtain. I ran out the other side as fast I could and back into my room and I'm shaking all over.

(I wrote a note warning the other girls in the dorm and got up teh courage to post it outside bathroom door, cause really, it would seriously suck to pull back the shower curtain and have a cane spider jump on you D:)

Of course the 100 dollar seating section was completely filled (and my friend and her friend somehow got free tickets in the first row >o<) And the 75 dollar seating was about half filled, and the 50 dollar seating well.....not so filled. When I had first bought my ticket, I joked with my mom that I was going to be the only person sitting in that section, but it turned out to be almost true! Anyway, I noticed a number of other people by themselves so I didn’t feel as bad, I even noticed this kind of haughty looking guy all by himself in the corner, and it kind of made my happy to think so may different people like k-dramas....until I realized that he was only there to see J, and after she performed he just left -_-;; I also noticed this youngish attractive asian guy in a grey shirt and hat walking around near me section and he sat a few rows up and over from me, but we’ll get back to him later.

Anyway, they started things off with a traditional korean dance by Chum Sa Rang, a local korean dance troupe, which was supposedly inspired by Goong. I really love traditional korean costumes. They are so colorful and elaborate. After that, most probably for reasons of keeping good ties with Honolulu’s korean community, the mayor of the city came out, and yes, he sang a song too. Anyway after that, FINALLY the real stuff started. The first person to come out was J. I was surprised that she speaks perfect english! She said actually she doesn’t speak korean very well,english is her native language. She was wearing a really pretty and light looking lavender dress. She looked so pretty ^^ First someone from the front row came up and gave her a lei and then she sang Giant (Sorry I Love You) During all the songs that were from OSTs, images or scene’s from that drama played on the screen in the back, and if it was not from an OST, the music video played in the back. Then she sang a song in english she said she had written the two loves of her life, her mother and her grandmother. The song is called Crush of Love. J talked a lot with the audience. She has a really cute and quiet voice. She was saying how she’s happy to have a chance to speak in english, but now she didn’t know what to say. Anyway, she was really sweet and I got a very good impression from her. Then she sang the song that she said had made her famous, called “Like Yesterday”. Finally she sang “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.

Next J called Howl onto the stage and they sang “Perhaps Love” (Goong ) and then J left the stage. Since none of the other artists could speak english, they had a translator, a young lady to come out on stage so they could communicate with the audience. So first he greeted the audience and a lady came to give him a lei and somehow also managed to plant a kiss on his cheek >.< Then he sang the song Parrot (Goon) I must say, Howl is an amazing singer! His voice is so powerful! After that song he talked a little more and said even though he’s a new singer with only one album he was able to come to perform in Hawaii so he’s really grateful. He also told the audience he was happy to see us waving our glowsticks like korean fans, but could we please wave them in unison because he is getting seasick from seeing them all different directions and felt like throwing up hahaha. We even practiced with him lol. Then he sang “Snow Flower” (Sorry I Love You) and I was SOOOOO happy, cause I love that song, but actually it was not sung by Howl, but Park Hyo Shin, so I wasn’t expecting it to be sung at all. After that he sang a song called “Not Anymore” (Love to Kill)

After that he told us that he will invite someone out to sing the next song with him, but please understand that he (Howl) sings better then the other guy (lol) and then Jung Jae Wook came out and he said in English “I heard that” hahaha. Together they sang “Bo Go Ship Da” (Stairway to Heaven ) It was so beautiful ;.; they are both such amazing singers. Howl left the stage and of course another lady had to give Jung Jae Wook a lei. She planted a kiss on her hand and then touched her hand to his cheek. Jung JaeWook really talked a lot and sometimes the translator had a hard time, but just stuff like how it was hard to get the tape for Bo Go Ship Da cause Kim Bum Soo who originally sang the song, is now in the army, and how he wants to live in Hawaii, or at least come back and give a solo concert here. He also talked about how Howl entered the music business as his junior when he (JaeWook) was really popular. In english he said “I’m his teacher” cause I guess he was still remembering Howl saying that he was a better singer ^^. But then he said actually he and Howl are really close friends. Well then he sang “Farewell” a song of his not from a drama, but it was really pretty and sad, and then “I Love You as Much as I Can’t” (One Fine Day) and then “Like the First Time” (Sorry I Love You) which made me happy cause I love Sorry I Love You and all the songs from it so much ^^ My program says he then sang a song called “Hello” but I can’t seem to find any info about it...Anyway this song was a tad more upbeat and there were backup dancers and Jung Jae Wook every now and then would bust out with a little dance step or two lol. Finally he said he wanted to sing an english song that he liked since High School. The reason he likes it is because the pronunciation is easy so it makes him sound like he can speak english haha. The song was “WildFlower” (yeah the same one KangTa sang on his PineTree live album and live on this one X-Man...how come all these Koreans seem to know this song that I have never even heard of?) Anyway....well Jae Wook did really well for awhile but near the end started forgetting the lyrics and kinda screwed up ^^;; but it still sounded good. He kept apologizing but none of us cared if he screwed up the lyrics at all so didn’t have to feel bad.

Then Jung Jae Wook left the stage and Tak Jae Hoon came on XD Ok Tak Jae Hoon I must say looks better in person than he does in pictures, seriously. He was just wearing a dark polo shirt and slacks and wearing glasses...he looked kind of like how Sung Si Kyung looks. (of course he got a lei too, but no kiss) He sang a song of his from when he was under “Country Kko Kko” called “I Love You” and holy crap, I guess cause he’s never put out albums under his own name I never realized that he could sing! I always thought he was just an actor and MC, but man his voice is freaking gorgeous! And when he talked oh man...well all the guys actually, when they talked in korean, my heart was melting. All their voices, singing or speaking, were so beautiful *sigh* But Tak Jae Hoon has a really lovely low voice. When he was waiting for the translator to come out, he was like “Come here baby” in english, and his voice was really low and sexy...well even though it was funny, and you usually don’t associate the words Tak Jae Hoon and sexy together...it just was XD Tak Jae Hoon is sooo funny XD He made everyone laugh so much. He said when he comes back to Hawaii he doesn’t want it to be for a concert but just for a big party that we can all come to and have fun XD. He was also saying that he has not been on stage as a singer in a long time since he’s been focusing on movies an TV. He sang a song from his solo times as S Papa, called “ Thank Goodness” and another Country Kko Kko song called “Compassion.” I guess he debuted when he was 26 years old, he said that was a long time ago. Someone in the audience asked how old was he and so he asked “how old do I look?” and someone yelled “26” so he said in english “26? Oh I love you! ....126?” ANd he was saying how he lived young, and he played soccer (with Jang WooHyuk as we all know XD) so his lower parts were really young! Oh man that sent the crowd off hahaha. He said this top half was no good but his lower half was good LOL. Also, every time the translator walked out he was like “nonono! (in english) and told her she had to walk more slowly like a model and kept saying “cute” and “beautiful” in english to her lol. When he was going to sing his next song “The Road I Chose” his debut song, he was explaining how in korea they think if the name of the song is good and happy then the singer will be successful, but if it is sad then the singer’s career will be sad (hey it works for H.O.T right? Candy and Haengbok and look how successful!) Anyway the translator asked him to try and say something in English, but then he suddenly started coughing and was like “I suddenly caught a cold I can’t talk!” Well despite that he then sang “The Road I Chose” and my program says he sang a song called “Oh My Julia” but I can’t remember so well sorry!

Ok then Tak Jae Hoon was like “Well today there is a special guest. I had a friend who REALLY wanted to come to Hawaii so I brought him along a little brother!” And I was racking my brains thinking OMG who could it be? It can’t be Tony can it !!!!???? But no. He said the guy is a famous Movie Star in Korea. The crowd was like “Wooooo!” and Jae Hoon was like “Please remember that I am also a movie star!” And then he was telling us “Don’t go Wooooo! for him! Go Wooooo! for me and wooooo (in a low unexcited tone) for him!”

The guy was Im Hyeon Jun (Ok I admit there’s also a guy named Shin Hyeon Jun in that movie is more famous so I was confused which is it, but since this guy said he was happy to come to Hawaii at such a young age (he said he thought he would have to come after he turned 50), I’m inclined to think it’s Im Hyeon Jun who is much younger), the actor from Marrying the Mafia 3. He came  out and stage and I was like holy crap! It was that dude in the grey shirt and  hat I saw sitting out in the audience at the start of the show!  First he came walking out kind of girly like  and Tak Jae Hoon made fun of him saying “He’s a movie star so he shouldn’t walk like that” so he tried again with these over the top manly strides lol. He said well even though he is an actor now, he actually debuted as a singer, but nobody in korea knows that but his family. He was also saying like he wants to live Hawaii because he got more recognition in Hawaii then he got in Korea, but he will probably have to marry someone to do that. What about the Eugene? (Eugene was the translator) ^^ He said he wanted to sing his debut song but could not find the tape, so he was going to sing “Snow Flower” again (even though Howl already sang it) and then the music started up and pulled out this scrap of yellow paper. Yes he had written the lyrics down so he could sing it! Well he sang some and his voice was GORGEOUS! I see why he started out a singer! But he didn’t finish the song and said he had only written the first verse down so he couldn’t finish it ^^;;
Finally they called everyone back on stage (J came skipping out) and the sang the song “Seasons in the Sun” (Korean version of the song by Westlife I think) together..again with the backup dancers...though there was a bit of confusion over who was supposed to sing which part lol. Then right after the song ended...as in the final notes were still reverberating in the air, and a ton of people were already leaving! Come on people! Encore? There’s ALWAYS an encore! Sure enough, Howl and J came back on stage. J said this song was for all the people that had stayed, and they sang “Perhaps Love” again, and that was the end of the concert.

But as we were leaving we noticed a crowd gathered by this chain link fence. On the other side was the stage entrance and a white limo. People were chanting Tak Jae Hoon’s name (and some Japanese boys were chanting “Tak Sama!”) And after a while Tak Jae Hoon, Jung Jae Wook and Im Hyeon Jun came out and came over the fence! Seriously five feet away! They were touching hands with the people lucky enough to be in the front. Then Howl came out but he didn’t come that close...he did take a picture of us all though ^^. Finally J came out and touched hands with fans and told us all to get home safely. Then they all got in the Limo and drove off.

I am currently translating a 6 column article in a Japanese National Geographic so that I can then write a two page paper in Japanese and give a 15 minute presentation also in Japanese, about it. During this process earlier today, I noticed this thing in the back of my kanji dictionary called a Skip index. The skip index lets you look up kanji's based on their apperance, rather than their radical.............Now as this article is jammed full of kanji and for plenty of them it takes AGES of guess work to figure out their radical, well let's just say my feelings can be expressed by the following.

*HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Bitch! I don't NEED your radical anymore! With our powers combined, you will be defeated!*

(passes out for awhile and then goes back to translating. 7 hours and counting....twitch)

So something wonderous has come to my attention thanks to Mangoo-chan
\:D/
I got a message from her saying there was a new store called Green Time in Manoa Marketplace that among other things, sold K-pop cds. Now Manoa Marketplace is in easy walking distance from where I live, and as a matter of fact I walk there almost every weekend for one reason or another (Starbucks and Safeway :X) So on Sunday I walked to Safeway and decided to see if I could find this place. It wasn't hard. There was a huge banner for the place as it had just opened, and I realized that it was not just some place that happened to sell cds, it's self-proclaimed k-pop cafe!
Well as it is closed on Sunday, I haven't yet been in it, but this Thursday after class, I will be checking this miraculous place out.

    <lj:music>Eddie - Do you Wanna Fall in Love</lj:music>

So.....I walked to Starbucks this morning, it's maybe a 15 minute walk, over some bumpy back road kinda places and the field of an elementary school. After I had consumed my beverage, I was walking back, passing by Safeway under their awning thing cause it had started to rain a bit...well i had an umbrella but it was windy too. Anyway I was walking when I felt a sort of stining sensation on the bottome of my foot. First I thought a sharp rock had gottne in my flip-flop, but then it hurt more, so I though maybe a thorn? Ten it hurt a LOT and there was kind of a fuzzy feeling and movement. I looked down and sure enough, there was some dumb ass bee that had gotten BETWEEN MY FOOT AND SANDAL and stung the bottom of my foot! I hobbled to the nearest open bench and sat down. Now I have actually never been stung by a bee before within my recollection, and it really really hurt ;.; I sat there grimacing awhile, unsure what to do at all and being utterly ignored by everyone.I mean I was outside Safeway but I didn;t know what to buy that would be good, and really didn;t want to be hobbling all over the store. I knew the pain would fade in not too long, but I highly doubted I would be able to walk home very well in this condition. I called Mark but he wasn't there (later he did call me but Sensei had found me by that point.)
So I was just sitting there feeling screwed when my Japanese teacher from two years ago happened to pass by and see me! She ran over to Long's Drug Store which is just across the parking lot, and got me some allergy medicine whihc I guess is good for bee stings? (maybe if you are allergic to them thank god I am not) and some water and a steam roll. Thne she offered to drive me home. Saved :o; Now I have never run into her there before, so I was REALLY REALLY lucky
Anyway. My foot is much better (if I don't walk on it) I pulle dout the stinger...which seemed also to have the very end of the bee still attached, stupid bee!
Anyway, that was MY morning. Now I have a ton of homework to do so I'd better go do it......

    <lj:music>Nakajima Takui - Aishi Hitoyo</lj:music>

Ok first of all, I love Takui, I love his music, but I don’t have it all and in this live there were quite a number of sings that I didn’t recognize. Also the live was teh other night, and I would have liked to have written this review directly after it so it all  THREE HOURS of it would still be fresh in my mind, but I had to go to bed cause I had school in the morning >.< So yeah, this is not accurate and really out of order I’m sure ;.;
Also, my Japanese sucks and Takui talks really fast so I often only got the gist of what he was saying...and sometimes what I think he might have said was an outright guess, so don’t take my word for it -_-;; Also I can’t recall well when he said what...so don’t take my word on that either .

Anyway , lame Concert review for Nakajima Takui “It’s A New World” tour Tokyo

The venue was a hotel in Shinjuku, maybe about a 15 minute walk from the station, so after a brief stop at the conbini to obtain sustenance with my spare 500 yen (leaving me with exactly enough money to get home again) I started walking. From the map it looked like a horrible trek of doom, but it really was not far at all, and as soon as I saw the sign I knew I was in the right place cause there were a ton of people hanging around. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a large chunk of the fans were boys, and many were sporting merchandise from either this tour or previous ones. While the majority of the people were around college age, I also saw some older men and women and even some families. Takui is popular among all types of people. As far as I saw, I was the only foreigner there, but this wouldn’t be the first time as the only one at a concert anyway ^^ I came straight from school (skipped my last period ^^;;) but I’d worn these black sandals with some heel on them all day, which was really dumb, and my feet already kinda hurt.

When we got into the hotel I saw many flowers had been sent to him congratulating him on his concert from companies and other artists. The one that stuck out to me was from T.M. Revolution! My seat was on the second tier, right near the back as I just got my ticket from a ticket pia, and I’m not part of the fan club or anything,. The place was moderately sized. I say that comparing it to other concerts i have been to here with Tokyo Dome being the largest and a livehouse fitting maybe 300 people max in Harajuku being the smallest) The rows were rather steep stadium seating so seeing over the next rows down was no problem, but in terms of the stage, I could see people’s bodies and outfits well, but not faces. There was no big screen or anything like that so it’s good I brought my mini binocs.

It was just past 7 when the concert started suddenly. I do mean suddenly. The lights just dropped and the music started all in one moment and everyone stood up of course. The audience I thought, was pretty mellow. Not that they didn’t freak out and scream “Takui Saiko!!!” and the like, but on the whole it was pretty low key, which I liked actually Anyway, the first song was Hitori ni naru koto ga Kowakatta. Takui was dressed in his usual style. A long sleeved button up shirt that was some kind of brown or maroon and white stripes with a greyish blue jacket and a huge sky blue scarf thingy around his neck. He was wearing fitting greenish pants and white pointy Takui shoes. I think his socks were orangish or pinkish but I couldn’t see well. He also had a chain on his pants. His hair of course was black and in the style that it has been recently. And Takui himself, was just so little! I couldn’t help but keep thinking “He’s sooooo skinny and little!” He’s so cute!

After the first song he sang Black Hole and another song off his new album. For the 4th or 5th song, he stopped to pick up a black guitar and explained that he wanted to sing some of his heavier songs. Due to his change in looks and style, his general mellowing out...I had wondered if he had just kind of become this mellow guy, and he’d just sit and play his acoustic guitar and sing the songs from his new album. Well no need to worry, cause that's not the case. Takui is still the same genki and energetic guy we all know and love. Although in the first few songs he had only moved around a little, from here on out he jumped around and danced in his usually “flea on a leash” manner. The spinning on one foot, sticking his leg and foot into the air like a peeing dog, all the usual Takui moves. He even did the splits twice!
In his heavy section he sang
Don’t look back, Must Be Strong and Up to Date He switched guitars a few times during this.

After this part he talked to the audience some.
He said things like, thanking the fans, being glad he can sing the kind of songs he wants to sing.
He also made cute jokes. for instance he talked about what he ate before the show, things like shumai and gyoza. He said something about eating...I think, if he didn’t eat enough before the live, it would become a very short live. He started singing and then pretended to throw up lol. Hew also spoke a tiny bit of English, like whan he would yell things like "Come on everybody, or telling the audience to clap their hands and the like, it was in English.

At some point he also talked about how people ask him what genre he is. “Hey you’re punk right?” “You’re Mod right?” and stuff like that. He also showed some silly dance moves and brought out a tambourine which he used for the next song, which was Message. After that he sang some more songs I didn’t know well from his new album, and Kasa wo Sasanai Kimi no Tame ni.

After this they brought a string bass and Takui said he was going to sing his “something” collection. It might have been Bara (rose ) collection...but that sounds more like something Gackt would say, so i don’t know. Anyway basically he was going to sing some ballads. Then he said something like, he wondered if people can really appreciate these songs while they are standing. This was his very polite and indirect way of asking the audience to sit for this section. As people sat, he told about how people in Nagoya and Osaka reacted to this request. He showed how in Nagoya people just flopped down so fast, while on Osaka they where like “huh?” but then they actually did all sit down.
Then he sang some ballads. They were all really really gorgeous. Takui’s live voice is just the same as it sounds on his CDs, if not more beautiful. He sang
Dareka no koe, Mother Sky (which by the way , is one of my favorite songs, and when he sang it I almost died. My heart ached and I didn’t know what to do. I was expecting that he wouldn’t sing that as it’s from an older album, but I’m SO happy that he did.) and Stay Together. At some point he played the harmonica, and very well at that...it might have been for this song but it’s all a blur now....

After this he said he wanted to sing a really old song. Because he has changed, he thought that song will also sound different from before, but to feel free to sing along, and he sang Calling You.

After this he started getting all jumpy and energetic again and said he know the audience will want to dance around and go crazy now. So he sang Drive My Limo which everyone went crazy to. He sang a number of energetic songs, many of which I had never heard in my life (one where it goes “yes sir yes sir yes sir” a bunch in the middle?) The ones I recognized where Sonzai, Oh My Darling, Destination and Sparkleman. Through out this whole thing he would often let the audience sing some of the main parts of the chorus so I sometimes missed important clues to what the songs may have been. FOr one song he taught teh audience hand movements...which was to show a peace sign front wards, then backwards, then frontwards agaon ^^;; Before I realized it, over 2 and a half hours had gone by! I was surprised since I hadn’t noticed so much time pass at all, and Takui had not taken any break at all! The only costume change was to take the outer jacket off, and his longest breaks where the few minutes he was either talking or drinking from his water bottle! I was surprised he kept getting more and more energetic!
Then he sang Punk which everyone loved. During this section he talked a bit and said things like how this live was sold out...but then said it was sold out too slowly! Watching the ticket sales was like...at first a few, and then getting more and more and more
he was like “hmm should we go? oh ok let’s go!” (pretending to be female fan deciding whether or not to go lol) He explained how they were gonna make a dvd out of this live and I think he said something about how the day after the next he was gonna play something in Yoyogi park? He also commented on how long the live was - 3 hours!.
Finally he sang Without You and exited.

encore 1
He came back out wearing the blue tour shirt. He said something about a song that was inspired by something to do with Germany and Italy? Then he sang
Tsuki sae Nemuru Yoru ni
He explained about the tour shirt design and said he can so easily see who in the audience is wearing it! Then Ken one of his band members commented that he was wearing the other tour shirt-the black polo and Takui was like “yes yes there is also that! There is also a pouch!” lol
He also said how he didn’t know which songs to sing for his encore, there were so many to choose from. He even has not sung all the songs off his new album ( I had been waiting desperately for Aishi Hitoyo, but no :/) there were old songs and new songs and fast songs and slow songs and he really couldn’t decide. In the end he sang Innovator, another song I love, and then left the stage.
encore 2
He came back in a white t-shirt with some design on it. He said for the last song he asked what song did he absolutely HAVE to sing at his live, the answer was Never Fades Away, so he sang that as his last song.
As he was leaving the stage...it was sooooo cute. Everyone else had gone off stage. he ran to either side and was waving and touching hands. Then he went to the front again and kinda pulled at the collar of his shirt. Of course we thought he would take his shirt off! everyone screamed, but then he put his finger to his lips and there was utter silence. Then he yelled something (not in his mic so i couldn't hear well, but “don’t” something). then he sort of skip danced off stage. It was so cute lol. As we were leaving they played ‘Cause I Miss You.

I filled out the survey and I wrote in Japanese, "Foreigners Love Takui Too!" on it
:D

Coming and leaving I made sure not to look at the merchandise cause I knew I would just cry that I couldn’t have it. I also saw they were selling 500 yen laminated posters of him at a stand just outside the venue. If only I hadn’t used that money for food! I could have survived on Takui love alone, I know it!
OMG I saw the most horrible thing ever ;o;
I had just got home from Ikebukuro (where I bought Tony's new album YAY!) at about 10:30 and as I was getting out my key I saw IT.
In the top corner near the front door was the single biggest spider or spider like creature I have ever laid eyes on. It was black and flattish, not like a tarantula, and it's body was HUGE and it had these long thick black legs. The first thing I thought was NO WAY can a spider that big exist, much less be right there. Well I didn't see it move thank god, cause I would have screamed and run back down the stairs, and then struggled with myself over whether I should try to go inside again or just sleep outside.....
IYADA YADAYADAYADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

How my body was abused at the Phantasmagoria Concert

    <lj:music>Tony An - Behind the Clouds (it has calming effects)</lj:music>

Phantasmagoria Concert Talk- (not a concert report really, I don't know the band at all)

I have one word for that concert. CRAAAAYZY! A 100% turn around the concert I was at last night.

When I was leaving this morning, my host dad saw me and was like "Bijin! You look like a model, let me take a picture of you!" -_-;; Whatever host dad. But he got his picture.

Anyway, Sandra and I went to Harajuku pretty early and it was so crowded. I have not been there before on a Sunday, but apparently  it was even more crowded then usual. We checked out the bridge were teh cosplayers hang out, and were accosted by this crazy british dude passing these papers about God and love. He kept going on about Love, saying thinsg like "there's one subject they don't teach you in a university, and it's LOVE!" -_-;;
Anyway we went to find some food and it was so crowded there was a huge human traffic jam. Eventually we went up to wait by the livehouse, called Ruido, which was next to a clothing store called Death Trap-ID, which Phantasmagoria apparently frequents. (And also this super cute clothing store with this dress I REALLY wanted but was so expensive ;o;) Even though we were very early some people were already sitting around to wait so we waited there too. Eventually more and more people showed up, including many people in fantastic cosplays, and everyone was taking pictures of them. The majority of the fans were somehow dressed up (I swear I'd seen this one lady at Gackt's concert), but some of the girls looked they would fit in more at an Ayumi Hamasaki concert. You just can never tell!
First, for people with these other tickets, there was a photoshoot/meeting event in the clothing store after it had started getting darker and colder, we got inside the place and stowed our stuff in the locker, thank God we did that because there was no way our stuff would have survived inside.

There were three types of tickets. The first 40 were S tickets and they got in first. Then the A tickets, of which there were about 80. We had A 67 and A 68, so yeah we were in the first 100 or so to get in, The place was much smaller then even where I was teh other night, and yes, we were front and center, about four rows four people back. Very,very close. After A tickets were B tickets. By 7, when the concert would start, teh place was pretty packed, but there must have been only about 300 or so. We noticed two foreign guys in the back, but we were the only foreigner girls. Anyway, a little after 7, the concert started! There had been a small screen in front of the stage showing some of their music videos, but then it rose away and everyone shoved up to the front, and we were both sandwiched pretty good..like on a super crowded train...only worse. I thought..ok, squashed, but no problem right... Little did I know -_-, teh fearsome beast that is a crowd of Japanese girls at a Visual Kei concert.

Anyway, the band members appeared, all decked out of course, mainly in white with black and red trimmings. Now when the guys stood up on the box thingys at the front of the stage, which they each did in turn at teh beginning, and the vocalist did on and off throughout the concert, he was like..LOOMING above us, and everyone was screaming so loud and the music of course was also so loud, I was basically deaf by the end of the concert. Well when the first song started, I realized what a dangerous position I was in. All the girls squashed up front were CRAZY. The would variously headbang (which you pretty much had to do even if you didn't want to, and I got really dizzy and feared my earings would come out) and throw themselves forward and back as a group. Those girls were not playing. They really threw themselves. It was fun save for some really aggressive people behind us who like..backed up and threw themselves back first at us. It was rather violent actually, and even though I eventually slid more to the back of the front crowd,not only had my outer shirt (I had a turtleneck on underneath) been pulled down off one shoulder, but they had cause my bra to become unhooked right from the first song -_-;; AISH! I wasn't able to fix it till the end of the concert either, cause there wasn't room to get my hands behind my back. Everyone was totally body to body, screaming and waving arms and if you didn't move with them..well you would probably die. It kind of felt like I'd been mauled. It got really hot and sweaty really fast and smelled pretty bad, even though they seemed to have some kind of incense wafting around the stage.

On three seperate occasions, the vocalist threw himself onto the crowd! the first time, I touched his skinny little arm. The second time...his head landed in my hand :O I was like ..what's that feeling..oh it's HIS HAIR! It was rather rough..his hair I mean. He had also landed on my friend, and some of the people were kind of falling..but he didn't go down, though I had to help Sandra back up....I think you really COULD die if were under all those people.

Well the bassist was having some kind of technical troubles which took up some time, so when they came out for an encore, it was only one song. Now after the first two songs, the fans hadn't been quite so violent, but for this last song, everyone was at it again, more than ever. And the song went on for so long! The bassist sent his bass into teh crowd near the end so I got to touch it, but the tech guy pulled it back. By the end of it all I was kind of shaking :O As they left the stage they threw their stuff, like water bottles and towels to the crowd, and then the drummer threw his drumsticks out as well. One of them hit my hand too, but I wouldn't have taken it, as all those other fans surely wanted and deserved it more than me. The other drumstick was caught by this girl who had an amazing costume and who we had seen crying after meeting Phantasmagoria before the concert, so we were both very happy for her.

I'm really glad I had a chance to go to this kind of concert! (Nas had bought the ticket but ended up not being able to go, so I went in her place) I was unsure because I know nothing about Phantasmagoria. But that was an experience I don't think I'll ever forget. So even it sounded like I wasn't having a good time, actually I had a great time! I just need some time to recover is all :D;;

Finally we made it back outside, and grabbed some crepes on the way to the station, since the last time we'd eaten was around 3, and it was now 8:45 (the concert was about an hour and a half...well the main part was an hour, then waiting for the encore, the encore and talking at the end was anotehr half hour, and that makes day two I haven't had a proper dinner. Woohoo!) As we were sitting across from teh station finishing the crepes, this drunk salaryman, probably later twenties, early thirties, came to talk to us. His eyes were completly bloodshot :O He tried asking how old we were, where we were from etc...and I was like "Why?" And then he explained in the careful way that semi-drunk people do, that his company does lots of overseas stuff so he wants to learn English, so he wants an English speaking friend. Then he asked if we could be his friend. At that point the also drunk lady he was with had come to fetch him..and I said , "well we are students so we are very busy...sorry" And then they left.
Yep, it was a crazy night.

And hey, if they happen to make a DVD of that concert (probably not cause they have another live tomorrow night at Shibuya AX and if they made a DVD it would be of that one) and happen to show the crowd up front..you might see us!

Lee Ji Hoon (with S) Concert Report

While I had realized that this would be mainly a JiHoon concert, I was hoping to see a little more of KangTa than I did, but it was still a great concert so I'll try and remember it all while my back is still aching. (I made a poor choice in footwear today, and unless that Phantasmagoria Concert has seating, I'm gonna forgo dressing up and wear sneakers.) I know a few things will be out of order anyway.

I arrived at Shinagawa station around 4 and didn't have as easy a time finding the hotel as I had expected, as even though it is the biggest hotel in the area there are plenty of other big hotels in the way of it and the walkways and roads were all screwy so you couldn't just walk down the street and find it. I don't envy the people who have to figure out how to get to it's parking lot by car anyway.

I found my way to the Aqua Stadium which houses the Stellar Ball, where the concert would be held. Outside was a slanting hill wih benches along it an a bunch of housewife aged ladies already seated comfortably there. I went in and wandered around the Aqua Stadium with nothing to do and no good place to sit -_-. Inside are some attractions like a sea animal carousel, The Ship of Pirates, like the viking ship ride from county fairs I think, an aquarium and a virtual Galaxy Express 999 ride. Of course you had to pay for everything, but even if it had been free, I would not go on the Galaxy Express ride because a few days ago I was watching this concert show thingy on TV with my host parents. It was mainly enka singers but Seishun Amigos and Hirihara Ayaka were on it to. Anyway, this one guy who looked like the most stereotypical cheesy talk show host sang this Galaxy Express song ( quote "Galaxy express 999 will take you on a journey, a never ending journey") and I still have nightmares about it. I don't even know what to say, it was so bad. How did that man ever make it to a stage!? And whoever wrote that song should be shot right along with whoever decided that guy should sing it. cough. ANYWAY
I eventually saw a few people hanging around by the entrance to the Stellar Ball so went over there to wait, but this staff guy was like, if you have your ticket you should wait outside. -_- So I went outside..but where to wait? Some ladies seemed to be waiting at the top of the hill somewhat behind the building, but I sat on a free bench for awhile until I saw people seeming to stand in lines. Well I had to ask someone cause I had no clue what was going on, but they were putting up signs with numbers on them. All the tickets had numbers so you were supposed to stand in your section. Numbers went from 100 to about 1300. Basically the lower your number the sooner you could get into the place and the better place you will have. My number? 1154. Yeah right near the end. My group, from 600 to the highest number had to wait at the the top of the hill in this parking lot and it got really cold ;o; I swear I heard this girl next to me talking about Rain/Bi and HeeJun though. When 6 finally rolled around (that was when the door opened)they started having us line into groups by number. I though it would be pretty much impossible to get all 600 of us in numerical order and into the ballroom in time but somehow they got us all lined up in about half an hour, but by then I'd been standing up there for an hour and a half, my feet and back hurt already, and I still had to stand through the concert. Bah!

Finally we made it inside and I stowed some of my stuff in a locker which was outrageously expensive, but really should have stuck my purse in there too....but at least I was able to buy a pen light (Gackt GAVE them to us you cheapos) but I did cause it said, in Katakana, Lee Ji Hoon, First live in Tokyo, My best friend (guest - HyeSung, KangTa) It's my souvenier. The only other goods they had were these utterly plain t-shirts that just said Lee Ji Hoon on them and the concert pamphlet.
I went into the ballroom and was surpised! It was very very small! I am suprised so many people fit into it. I had been worrying that I had forgotten my binoculars, but in the end it was needless cause even near the back I could see perfectly well. Of course the fact that I was taller then most everyone else gave me a great advantage. As I had expected the main bulk of the fans were middle aged women. Some seemed to be with their adult or almost adult daughters, many were in big groups. There were also a few groups of girls my age, a few old ladies, including one lady in a kimono, and I saw one male (there may have been a few more that I didn't see) who was obviously some lady's husband, but he seemed to have a good time anyway. I am quite certain that I was the one and only non-asian person there. Way to go me for representing us!
A few people, including the crazy lady next to me had fans like they have in korea, which they use as mini signs, and are edged with shiny garlands and stuff. This lady's had korean writing on one side (I think it said "hyesung" though) and this horrendously amusing picture of Jihoon shirtless and decked out like a greek god on the other. (The excess armpit hair made me cry though) Throughout the concert this lady was absolutely beside herself. She couldn't stop laughing and waving her fan like a loon. She really really loved Ji Hoon. (They said it Jifoooooooon, not Ji Hoon lol)

OK the actual concert- At first there was one of those big semi transparent sheets over the stage so you could see people back there but not faces. Then, the music started with drums and bass, like a rock song, and there was a light show off the sheet...and when the song really started up, the sheet fell, the lights flared and a ton of gold and silver shiny streamers fell out of the sky and steam shot in jets from the front of the stage. It was very exciting! Now I apologize right here, as I have only heard Ji Hoon sing as part of S and thus I don't know any of his songs. (But I was very impressed by his beautiful voice so that may change) The first song was very upbeat and dance-y and though Ji Hoon didn't really dance he had some good backup dancers, two girls and three guys. The band and backup singers were also live. Ji Hoon was all in white, white pants with a black and white polka dot cloth belt tied in a big bow, a sparkly white and low cut shirt with a sparkly white short jacket with tassels. Lol. He also had a necklace which I think was a cross, but even though I was studying that part of him very intensly, it was hard to see which was the shiny necklace and which was his wet shiny skin. Rar. Actually, I don't think he is an incredibly handsome fellow, especially compared to KangTa (but then again, compared to KangTa, who has a chance?) But he certainly had charm and was pretty cute and had a friendly sort of aura. With his wavy hair he reminded me a tad of an older not as handsome Se7en. In his defense, I thought he looked much better in real life then in his pictures. And I still liked his wet shiny chest :D.
The second song was also upbeat..something Shake it ....and afterwards he sat down and talked to us in Japanese! He really practiced hard cause he spoke very fluently sounding through the whole concert (and said stuff I also could not understand), though he had an accent. I think he actually only knows a little Japanese though, cause he couldn't say much that wasn't scripted. He said good evening and asked us how we felt and all that good stuff. He also gestured to the low cut shirt and was like "totemo ookii" (really big) ^^ At this point he was pretty sweaty and as he was talking suddenly a handkerchief flew up on stage, as a fan had tossed it. he grabbed it and was gonna tuck into his belt ,but the fan said something and he was like, "Oh yeah, it's hot isn't it?" and wiped his forhead with it. The fan said something, and he said "Present?" and the tossed it back to her, making everyone scream.
Then he sang two slow and beautiful songs (he said something like they were written for women..I think he meant specific women but not sure) the second one especially was really lovely and he showed how lovely his voice can be as well.
Then he started talking about how he has been in the music industry for 10 years, such a long time. He talked about his first official song from 10 years ago, and then sang it while the music video played in the background. I thought it was a good song..that started out quiet but the main chorus was very loud and powerful. I will have to find it sometime.
After this he went off stage and there was a show of pictures of him from a baby up until now. When he came back out he was at the piano wearing similar pants and jacket to the white ones, only black, a black shirt with big shiny stripes and between that and the jacket a bright blue open long sleeved collared shirt that had really long tails that stuck out from the jacket, and also a black hat. he sang some English countryish ballad song, I'm not 100% on this but I think it was Desperado by Johnny Cash. Even though I hate country, his voice was very beautiful singing in english so I forgive him. After that he said..."Piano...muzukashii ne" (piano is hard isn't it?") and then in english he said "Mistake" He said how he had prepared for this concert and practiced a lot so he could play for us, but still..mistake. Then he said he had prepared a gift for Japanese fans! He learned some popular Japanese songs to sing. He sang "Koi" by Mr. Children (which I don't know) and then left the stage and came back on a few minutes later, having removed the jacket and hat and wearing a huge curly black wig. The band and backup were similarly attired in sparkly clothes and crazy wigs. You may have guessed it, he sang Hirai Ken's "Pop Star".

He went off stage again and more video played on the screen. This was video of S and everyone freaked, especially over HyeSung, the loser (I'm sorry. there's no real reason for me not to like him, he has a lovely voice and is cute...but I just don't) And the HyeSung and JiHoon sang A Doll, which is the song that started S, as KangTa wrote it for those two to sing. Afterwards JiHoon said "this person is my friend!" and HyeSung talked a little to JiHoon in Korean. I was surprised his speaking voice is very low! Anyway, finally KangTa came out. KYAAAAAAAAAA! he was so beautiful ;o; He was wearing ripped jeans, a black collared shirt with a dark tie with small reddish polka dots and a waist length white jacket with broad black stripes at the ends of the sleeves and bottom of the jacket. His hair was how it has looked recently, brown and longish and smooth, lying over one eye. He was very very beautiful, but seemed somehow untouchable. He greeted us in Japanese, and compared to Hyesung his voice sounded rather high <3

There was a talk session with this guy reading questions in Japanese and Korean and then translating the answers. I'm sorry I didn't get much of that part...all I remember was one question that KangTa got asked was how he has been to many countries, how do Japanese fans compare to fans from other countries. He said first that all the fans are very warm and all that, but I didn't get what he said about Japanese fans in particular.

Then, they sang I Swear in Japanese and then the song they sang from April Snow, showing scenes form the movie in the back. I know i'm biased, but between those three KangTa's voice is ichi-ban for me. Not only his voice, but he also seemed to sing with more passion and emotion in his voice. Unfortunately, that was the whole of his appearance.I feel like he just wanted a vacation to Japan and agreed to warble a few tunes out on the side but I was still very happy to see him. Hyesung had one solo song, curse him, it should have been Ta!

When Ji Hoon came out, he sang Livin da vida loca...possibly causing Ta flashbacks to Tony's performance of the same song at H.O.T's last concert. Though Tony danced his ass off in that and Ji Hoon let his back up dancers do that for him. He was dressed this time in his sparkly shirt/jacket outfit only all red. Then he sang Bo Go Ship Da ;o;! Originally sung by Kim Bum Soo, it's the main theme to the drama Stairway to Heaven which just finished playing on LaLa on Tuesday. His voice is different from Kim Bum Soo, but he still did an excellent job of it, especially the main phrase Bo Go Ship Da where it is sung twice in the song at a rather high pitch and without background music, those parts are basically the height of the song, and I was very impressed by his singing of it.
Then he sang some song I didn't know and finally said there is only one song left! He said he won't forget his fans in Japan, so please don't forget him. All the ladies laughed because to them that's like God telling the Pope not to forget him. He sang a beautiful song and went off stage. But of course came out for a one song encore, and English song that strangely I recognized cause I had heard it in a fanvideo for HeeJun. Was that like a sign or what? The song is called Goodbye, and seems to have been performed by a number of different english artists including some band called Air Supply (group form the 80s that sang "total ecplipse of teh heart, can't live, died in your arms, etc)
And that was really the end.
goodnight
